TORONTO CURRY AWARDS 2019 HOST ANNOUNCED
There’s now less than one week to go until the second Toronto Curry Awards, and we couldn’t be more excited! That said, we couldn’t wait to share with you all that the host at this year’s event is none other than OMNI Television reporter and host, Loveen Gill.
As well as covering human interest and community-centred stories, the reporter is also closely involved in the non-profit sector. For over a decade she has volunteered tirelessly to eradicate taboos within the South Asian community which have included topics such as organ donation.
Loveen has received provincial recognition such as Leading Women Building Communities from the Minister of Status of Women in 2017 and several other community awards for social work. She is the recipient of the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship, 2018 for her tremendous efforts and contributions to her community.
On top of all of her great work, she is also a published Anthologist, with a released book that includes articles on women’s issues contributed by over two hundred female writers from across the globe.
Her future goals include continuing her work with women and youths, as well as bridging the gaps and raising awareness of their untold stories through her journalism.
